“Thais Help Thais Plus: 60/40” Co-Payment Scheme to Ease Cost of Living and Stimulate Local Economy

The Government has officially launched the "Thais Help Thais Plus: 60/40" co-payment scheme, aimed at easing people’s cost of living and stimulating the local economy, while increasing income for small entrepreneurs and local traders across the country.

Deputy Government Spokesperson Lalida Persvivatana said that, the scheme allows registered individuals who buy goods from local shops to pay only 40 percent the price of their purchases, with the Government subsidizing the remaining 60 percent.

Members of the public may register and confirm their participation from 25 to 29 May 2026, or until the quota of 30 million participants is filled. Eligible applicants must be Thai nationals aged 18 and over, who are not state welfare cardholders, and must not have been suspended or ordered to return money under previous phases of the co-payment scheme.

Spending is allowed at participating shops from 1 June to 30 September 2026, between 06.00 hr and 23.00 hr. Purchases of food and beverages via food delivery platforms, approved to join the program, are allowed from 15 June to 30 September, between 06.00 hr and 21.00 hr.

The permitted purchases include food, beverages, general products, and public transport services. They will not include alcoholic drinks, tobacco, gift vouchers, and lottery tickets. Massage parlors, spas, nail salons, and hair salons are also excluded from this phase.

The co-payment scheme is carried out through the G-Wallet system, comprising the “Pao Tang” app for buyers and “Thung Ngoen” app for traders. Shops may register and confirm their participation from 25 May to 31 July.

The Cabinet on 19 May approved the Thais Help Thais Plus: 60/40 co-payment scheme, with the state contribution of not exceeding 200 baht per person per day and not more than 1,000 baht per person per month, from June to September.

According to the Deputy Government Spokesperson, the Government believes that stimulating the local economy will serve as a major mechanism to strengthen the overall Thai economy. The co-payment scheme will help boost domestic consumption, increase money circulation, and cut people’s expenses during this period of economic recovery.
