The Bureau of the Royal Household has announced revised visiting arrangements for the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaeo) in Bangkok from 28 to 31 July 2026. 

Access to both sites will be adjusted during the period because of royal ceremonies on the occasion of His Majesty the King’s birthday anniversary (28 July) and in observance of the Buddhist 50-day merit-making rites to pay tribute to Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluangrajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita.

- On 28-29 July, the Grand Palace will be closed. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the Royal Pantheon will be open to visitors from 08.00 to 12.00 hr, entering and leaving through Sawatdi Sopha Gate, opposite the Ministry of Defense. Admission is free. Phra ubosot (the main assembly hall) will be closed to visitors.

- On 30 July, tickets will be sold for visiting the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha from 08.00 to 12.00 hr. Phra ubosot (the main assembly hall) will be closed to visitors for the entire day.

- On 31 July, tickets will be sold for visiting the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha from 13.00 to 15.30 hr.  Phra ubosot (the main assembly hall) will be closed to visitors for the entire day.
