Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has reaffirmed Thailand's openness and readiness to cooperate with all countries, particularly in the areas of investment and technology, amid a rapidly changing global context.
The Prime Minister spoke about his vision and policy directions of the Thai government at a meeting with a group of foreign ambassadors and consuls-general to Thailand, held recently at Santi Maitri Building, Government House.
He noted that Thailand is at a critical juncture of transformation, highlighting government efforts in public sector reform and economic restructuring toward future industries, emerging technologies, and high-value activities.
Thailand is also preparing for accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). To this end, it is enhancing national standards, regulations, and institutions to align with international standards and build long-term confidence in the country.
The Government regards its international partnerships not only from a diplomatic perspective, but also as a gateway to opportunities for investment, technology, knowledge, markets, and human capital development. Thailand, therefore, seeks to move beyond relations that focus solely on trade in goods and services toward joint thinking, co-investment, and co-creation, especially in sectors that will shape the future of the global economy, such as the digital economy, clean energy, advanced manufacturing, food security, and healthcare.
The Prime Minister emphasized that Thailand remains stable, open, and ready to collaborate with all nations, based on mutual trust, friendship, and cooperation. The Thai government is committed to strengthening international relations and stands ready to work with the global community to achieve shared growth, resilience, security, and prosperity in a rapidly changing world.
The Prime Minister also highlighted Thailand’s key international engagements, including upcoming visits to New York for the United Nations General Assembly and Pre-COP31 in Fiji this September. Furthermore, Thailand is set to host the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in Bangkok in October, before attending the ASEAN Summit in November. The Government aims to leverage these global platforms to showcase the nation's potential, strengthen international cooperation, and unlock new opportunities.
