Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul has congratulated Nene Royal, or Miss Rattikarn Amloy, on making history as the first Thai contestant to win America’s Got Talent (AGT), taking the 2026 championship and bringing joy to fans across Thailand and around the world.

Deputy Government Spokesperson Ploythalay Laksameesaengjan said that the Prime Minister, currently in New York for the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81), praised Nene, a 16-year-old contestant from Phuket, for her talent, determination, and great efforts throughout the competition. This led to her remarkable success, bringing fame and pride to Thailand and the Thai people. 

Ms. Ploythalay said that Nene's success reflects the potential of Thai youth to stand out brilliantly on the global stage, particularly in singing and playing the guitar, along with a unique performance style that impresses a world-wide audience.

She pointed out that Nene is an example of the younger generation who dares to dream, strives for self-improvement, and uses her talent to achieve international success. In the final round on 22 September, she performed The White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army," with nine other contestants at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California, ahead of the results announcement on 23 September.

Throughout AGT Season 21, Nene impressed the audience from the audition round by performing the Cranberries’ “Zombie,” earning four “yes” votes from the judges. She continued to stand out, receiving the Golden Buzzer from Mel B for her powerful performance of “Black Hole Sun” by Soundgarden in the live quarterfinal, which secured her a direct advancement to the finals.

The Deputy Government Spokesperson stated that the Government would like to congratulate Nene, her family, supporters, and all sectors involved in this success. It also thanks her for showcasing the capabilities of Thai youth to audiences worldwide and for contributing to Thailand's good reputation and positive image through music and performance. 

She noted that Nene's success is a testament to the fact that Thai youth can compete globally, if they are given opportunities, stay determined, and never stop improving themselves. The Government stands ready to support the creation of platforms and opportunities for Thai youth to fully develop their potential, ensuring that the new generation continues to bring fame and pride to the country.
