Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt said that nearly 300 mm of rain fell over a 48-hour period since 24 September, filling major canals faster than the city could drain them. While pumping continues, flooding has affected homes and roads, particularly near the Lat Phrao, Prawet and Saen Saep canals.

Residents who can stay home on Saturday morning, 26 September, are advised to do so, as flood conditions may change quickly. Those who need to travel should avoid Ramkhamhaeng Road, New Phetchaburi Road, Ekkamai Road, Sena Nikhom 1 Road, Lat Krabang Road, and Vibhavadi Rangsit Road from Chatuchak onward.

District offices are setting up temporary shelters in flood-free office buildings and schools under the supervision of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA). Anyone needing help for bedridden patients should call 1669.

BMA has also stationed staff at flood-prone locations to assist residents. its main drainage systems remain fully operational.
