Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office Supamas Isarabhakdi has urged public media agencies to help people understand the widespread benefits Thailand stands to gain from the 2026 IMF–World Bank Group Annual Meetings.
Minister Supamas noted that the meetings, held from 12 to 18 October 2026 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, mark Thailand’s return as host after 35 years. She emphasized that citizens should understand how the global economic issues discussed at the meetings directly relate to their daily lives, and how Thailand can translate these emerging opportunities into investments, job creation, and higher incomes.
Key domestic opportunities include attracting investments in digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) alongside workforce upskilling, mobilizing finance for the green economy and clean energy, and strengthening international trade and investment cooperation.
Additional focus areas include preparing the workforce for new investment trends, helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) tap into new markets and partnerships, and exploring business prospects in emerging industries.
Minister Supamas stated that complex economic issues should be made accessible through accurate and consistent updates, enabling the public to apply practical information to their lives while fostering a shared sense of national pride in Thailand’s capabilities.
She also encouraged public media outlets to utilize verified information from the Ministry of Finance, the Bank of Thailand, and other relevant agencies to produce clear content in both Thai and English for audiences nationwide and globally.
