Official Visit of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul to China

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is scheduled to pay an official visit to the People’s Republic of China from 16 to 20 July 2026 at the invitation of Mr. Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China.

The visit is to further strengthen the Thailand-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership for the mutual benefit of the two peoples. It will include three major Chinese cities – Shanghai, Chengdu, and Beijing.

Government Spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek stated that the visit aims to enhance Thai-Chinese economic cooperation, especially in the areas of science, technology, innovation, artificial intelligence (AI), and next-generation industries, as well as security and transnational crime suppression. 

In Shanghai, Prime Minister Anutin will pay a courtesy call on President Xi Jinping and join the opening of the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC 2026) at the invitation of the Chinese President.

In Chengdu, he will preside over the opening of the Thailand-China (Sichuan) Investment and Economic Forum 2026, and the opening of an investment section at the Royal Thai Consulate-General to expand Thailand's investment promotion network into western China.

In Beijing, the Prime Minister will hold a bilateral meeting with Premier Li Qiang and hold talks with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji. He will also witness the signing of important cooperation agreements between Thai and Chinese agencies for cooperation in various areas, such as trade, investment, public health, agriculture, education, science and technology, and media.
