Thailand’s Government Public Relations Department (PRD) received a special certificate, “In Recognition of Content Distinction,” from the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) at the ABU Prizes 2026 ceremony on 1 November in Colombo, Sri Lanka. This award acknowledges the capabilities of PRD personnel in creating meaningful media content that benefits society.
Ms. Pathamaporn Ratanatilaka na Bhuket, Senior Specialist for Foreign Affairs and Head of the PRD Delegation, together with her delegation, attended the award presentation ceremony at Cinnamon Life, City of Dreams, as part of the 63rd ABU General Assembly.
The ABU Prizes is an annual media competition covering 16 categories across three divisions: Audio, Screen, and Digital Media. It also features the ABU Perspective Awards in the Audio and Screen divisions, with entries for 2026 produced under the theme “Healing,” as well as special certificates “In Recognition of Content Distinction.” A panel of experts assesses entries based on their objectives, creativity, presentation, and production quality.
PRD has been a full member of the ABU under the name “National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT)” since 1964, actively participating in staff development, knowledge exchanges, and media competitions. This special recognition provides further encouragement for PRD to continue developing high-quality, credible media content that creates value for society.
