A Splendid Ceremonial Guard Of Honour

Brunei Darussalam marked the 79th birthday of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, with grand national celebrations in the capital. Thousands of people—including students, uniformed personnel, and dignitaries—gathered to commemorate the occasion.
The festivities began with the Grand Parade, featuring 1,141 personnel, a 21-gun salute, a flypast by Royal Brunei Air Force aircraft, and resounding patriotic chants that filled the atmosphere. 

Following the parade, the Audience and Investiture Ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam delivered a titah (royal speech), highlighting key national developments under Brunei Vision 2035, including: Land Code amendments (effective 1st August 2025) to ease land ownership; a national Digital Transformation Plan focused on AI; the Personal Data Protection Order (effective 1st January 2026); minimum wage extension to seven new industries, and expansion of SkillPlus training programmes.

His Majesty expressed hope that Brunei’s youth will embrace these opportunities and extended heartfelt thanks to citizens, public servants, and event organisers for their unwavering support.
Also graced the ceremony was Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam graced the ceremony, along with other members of the royal family.
During the State Decorations Ceremony, 14 individuals were honoured for their service—including foreign defence chiefs and prominent local figures from the government, medical, and industrial sectors.

Distinguished guests from neighbouring countries such as Republic of Singapore, Sarawak, and Sabah were also in attendance. All events were held with full traditional protocol.
A day before, a Doa Kesyukuran Ceremony, Mass Fardu Maghrib and Sunat Hajat Prayers; and Reading of Doa Kesyukuran was also held in conjunction with His Majesty's 79th Birthday Celebration. The ceremony was held at Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah.
The Mass Fardu Maghrib Prayer was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar. Yang Berhormat Pehin also led the Sunat Hajat prayer and doa kesyukuran to seek blessings from Allah the Almighty for His Majesty's long life.
