Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications led Brunei Darussalam’s delegation to the 6th ASEAN Digital Ministers’ Meeting (ADGMIN) and Related Meetings in Ha Noi, Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, held on 15th to 16th January.
The meeting, chaired by His Excellency Nguyen Manh Hung, Minister of Science and Technology of Viet Nam with Brunei as Vice-Chair, focused on the theme ‘Adaptive ASEAN: From Connectivity to Connected Intelligence’, emphasising stronger regional digital ecosystems, digital trust, and inclusive, sustainable development.
During the meeting, the Minister of Transport and Infocommunications highlighted the importance of advancing connected intelligence and digital public infrastructure. The ASEAN Digital Masterplan 2030 was officially launched to guide the region’s digital transformation over the next five years. The meeting also endorsed 17 digital projects for implementation in 2026, including several coordinated by Brunei, such as the ASEAN AI Skilling Framework and ASEAN Digital Trade Infrastructure (Phase 2).
The meeting included engagements with ASEAN’s dialogue partners and the International Telecommunications Union (ITU). At the ASEAN Digital Awards 2026, Brunei’s WilKGames won a Silver Award in the Digital Content category for its 3D game, Tikus Tales.
