The meeting, scheduled for October 2027, is to bring together delegations from all 21 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) member economies, along with representatives from around 10 international organisations and invited guests.
Preparations for the meeting were discussed during a working session between a delegation from the Ministry of Finance, led by Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Phuong, and the leadership of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province on July 20.
During the working session, the Ministry of Finance and Quang Ninh authorities agreed to coordinate preparations across a wide range of areas, including diplomatic protocol, conference facilities, logistics, medical services, security, volunteer support, cultural programmes, communications and event decoration.
Le Van Anh, vice chairman of the Quang Ninh People's Committee, said hosting the APEC Finance Ministers' Meeting would provide an important opportunity to showcase the province's development potential, investment environment and tourism attractions to the international community.
He noted that Quang Ninh has extensive experience in organising major national and international events and would work closely with government agencies to ensure thorough preparations for the meeting.
As part of the working visit, the Ministry of Finance delegation also conducted site inspections of several venues proposed for ministerial meetings and related activities during APEC Vietnam 2027.
Vietnam will host a series of ministerial meetings and high-level events throughout APEC 2027, bringing together leaders, policymakers and business representatives from across the Asia-Pacific region to discuss economic cooperation, sustainable growth and regional integration.
