Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), and his spouse, Datin Ummisyafinah binti Haji Zaini, attended a reception to commemorate Royal Thai Armed Forces (RTAF) Day 2026, hosted by the Office of the Defence Attaché, Royal Thai Armed Forces, at the Cesar Grand Hall, The Mulia Hotel.
Also in attendance were His Excellency Akrapong Chalermnon, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (Designate) of the Kingdom of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam, heads of diplomatic missions, senior military officers, and defence attachés.
In his remarks, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (Designate) of the Kingdom of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam highlighted the strong bilateral ties between Brunei Darussalam and Thailand, including cooperation under the ASEAN framework. He also noted the upcoming visit of General Ukrit Boontanonda, the newly appointed Chief of Defence Forces of the RTAF, as an opportunity to further strengthen military relations. The Ambassador also acknowledged the role of the RBAF Officer Cadet School in fostering professional development and closer cooperation among young military officers from both countries.
Meanwhile, Group Captain Woravit Pranet, Defence Attaché at the Royal Thai Embassy, underscored the longstanding defence relationship between Brunei Darussalam and Thailand, strengthened through high-level visits, military education and training, and exchanges of expertise.
