The Director-General of the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE), the Ministry of Energy, Prasert Sinsukprasert, revealed that Thailand's performance in the ASEAN Energy Awards was exceptional, with the record-breaking 17 awards it received demonstrating the country's unrivaled dedication to sustainable energy practices in the region. Six honors for first place, six for second place, and five for third place were among the accomplishments of the nation in a wide range of categories. Additionally honored during the occasion were up to seven sustainable energy projects in Thailand. The director-general emphasized the importance of reducing energy use while highlighting the combined efforts of numerous departments that resulted in this outstanding accomplishment. He stressed that these achievements will serve as a catalyst for promoting policies aimed at achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and realizing carbon neutrality.
