Government's cannabis policy to put health and economy first

Anutin Charnvirakul, deputy prime minister and minister of the interior, recently discussed the government's policy on cannabis as a means of fostering health and economic development, emphasizing that it was not intended to encourage unrestrained recreational usage. The leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, Anutin, who was the previous administration's minister of public health, claimed that during the last parliamentary session, his party had filed a measure on cannabis legislation that had been rejected. He claimed that in order to advance cannabis for its therapeutic, health, and economic advantages, the Bhumjaithai Party will resubmit the bill to the current legislature. Minister Anutin claimed that discussions about unrestricted use had clouded the debate regarding legalizing cannabis. He has thus urged everyone to refrain from spreading this misunderstanding.
