Increased gun control following Bangkok shooting

Anutin Charnvirakul, the deputy prime minister and minister of the interior, gave the Department of Local Administration the order to stop giving weapons licenses to the general population. The decision was made after taking into account the fact that the country already has legislative structures in place to protect and guarantee the safety of its residents. Therefore, it doesn't seem necessary for the general populace to own or carry guns in plain sight. Those who currently own firearms are asked to keep them safely locked up, even from their own families. The goal is to completely adhere to the law when it comes to carrying and possessing firearms. Gun purchases and possession, including associated products like BB-GUNs, toy guns, and ammunition, will be subject to stringent checks. The department will closely watch and impose restrictions on the sale and import of these items.
