Thailand launches new campaign targeting shoppers from ASEAN, India

The Tourism Authority of Thailand has launched a new campaign targeting shoppers from Southeast Asia and India, as part of its effort to boost the Thai economy and make Thailand the tourism destination for Southeast Asia.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched a campaign called "ASEAN+India Shoppers in Thailand," hoping to encourage more spending and repeat visits. The TAT has joined hands with business partners to provide special privileges to visitors shopping or using services at participating stores, from 29 April to 15 June.

TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool said this campaign will position Thailand as the regional tourism destination of Southeast Asia, in line with the government's Single Destination vision for Thailand.

The TAT expects to see 10 million visitors from Southeast Asia this year. The number of visitors from India alone is anticipated to reach 1.7 million, thanks to the visa exemption policy granted to short-term Indian passport holders.
