Bangladesh PM Concludes Productive Visit to Thailand with Key Agreements

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina concluded her first official visit to Thailand since 2002, departing on the morning of April 29. The visit, which began on April 24, was hosted by the Thai government and involved extensive discussions aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries. Dr. Nalinee Taveesin, Thailand's Trade Representative and an advisor to the Prime Minister, was present at Military Air Terminal 2, Wing 6, to bid farewell to the Bangladeshi delegation.

Throughout the visit, the focus was on strengthening ties in fields where both nations have shown potential and expertise. Discussions involved five key areas, including trade, agriculture, infrastructure, medical tourism, and educational cooperation. These talks culminated in the signing of five agreements, underscoring a mutual interest in deepening engagement across these sectors.

The visit also served as an opportunity for the two sides to advance collaboration and exchange at both governmental and public levels, solidifying and expanding the bilateral relationship through trade and investment, developmental cooperation, and tourism.

Before boarding her return flight home, Hasina expressed satisfaction with Thailand as a capable partner, particularly acknowledging the progress made in enhancing the trade value between the two nations.
