Thailand Aims to Host InterPride 2025 and WorldPride 2030

Thailand has announced its intention to propose Phuket as the host city for the InterPride World Conference in 2025 and to bid for WorldPride in 2030.

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin made the announcement during the "Unity in Action: Thailand’s Next Steps in Equality" event, highlighting the country's commitment to gender equality and LGBTQ+ rights.

He pointed out recent legislative advancements, such as the Marriage Equality Law, as evidence of Thailand's dedication to inclusivity and respect for diversity. Srettha stated that these initiatives reflect Thailand's core values and aim to position the country as a leading destination for LGBTQ+ tourism.

The proposed bids for hosting these significant events are part of a broader strategy to promote gender equality and boost the economy through international tourism and the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry.

The effort aligns with Thailand's broader goals of showcasing its progress in gender inclusivity on the global stage.
