The Ministry of Tourism and Sports, in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Thairath Group, launched the “Immediate Happiness in New Vintage Travel Destinations” campaign in Sa Kaeo province yesterday (Jan 25).
The event, attended by Minister of Tourism and Sports Sorawong Thienthong, TAT Deputy Governor Nithee Seeprae, and Thairath Group Executive Jitsupa Vacharaphol, seeks to redefine Sa Kaeo as a vintage travel destination while revitalizing the iconic Rong Kluea Market. The campaign supports Thailand’s 2025 tourism goals by inviting visitors to discover the province’s unique blend of culture, history, and natural beauty.
A highlight of the launch was the “Rong Kluea Runway” fashion show, where models showcased second-hand and vintage clothing. Discussions on sustainable fashion also took place, with experts emphasizing the environmental benefits of buying second-hand. As Thailand’s largest vintage marketplace, Rong Kluea Market features a vast selection of globally sourced goods, including clothing, textiles, and collectibles, promoting sustainable consumption and reducing textile waste.
The campaign introduced Sa Kaeo’s “5 Must-Do” activities, encouraging visitors to fully experience the province’s diverse attractions. These include sampling local dishes such as golden Nam Dok Mai mangoes, exploring historical landmarks such as Sadok Kok Thom Temple, and enjoying nature at Pang Sida National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its butterfly populations. Adventure seekers can take part in activities such as trail running and rock climbing, while shoppers can browse handmade textiles and vintage treasures at Rong Kluea Market.
