Thailand's Princess Sirivannavari Unveils “Siriraj Phattra Phorn” Textile Pattern

Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya has introduced the “Siriraj Phattra Phorn” textile pattern to support Thailand’s traditional weaving heritage. The design was created in recognition of her contributions to fashion and textile arts after receiving an Honorary Doctorate in Fashion Design from Thammasat University for the 2023 academic year.

Inspired by Thailand’s historical textiles and traditional art, the pattern reflects extensive research into motifs representing the nation’s culture, history, and natural beauty. By combining these elements with modern design principles, it offers a contemporary interpretation while preserving the essence of Thai craftsmanship.

The “Siriraj Phattra Phorn” pattern has been shared with Thai weavers and artisans, allowing its incorporation into a range of textiles, including batik fabrics, mudmee (ikat) silk, and other intricate woven styles. The effort promotes local craftsmanship while expanding opportunities for Thai textiles in wider markets.

Blending tradition with innovation, the introduction of this fabric pattern supports the continued growth and recognition of Thai textile artistry, encouraging artisans to create high-quality pieces that highlight Thailand’s cultural heritage and craftsmanship, both nationally and internationally.
