The Yaowarat Chinese New Year Organizing Committee has announced the cancellation of the 2026 celebrations, which are scheduled for February 17 and 18.

The committee said the dates fall within the official national mourning period for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. Given the festive nature of the event, organizers determined that proceeding would not be appropriate during a time of remembrance and respect, and therefore canceled the celebrations as a tribute.
