Thai PM Visits “DNA Nakhon Phanom” to Promote “Restination” Tourism

Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul visited the "Nakhon Phanom DNA" festival on March 29, 2026, to promote the province’s local identity as a premier "Restination" for travelers.

The Prime Minister was joined by Permanent Secretary for Interior Ansit Samphantharat and Department of Community Development Director-General Siam Sirimongkol. Nakhon Phanom Governor Acting Major Adisak Noisuwan welcomed the delegation at the Phaya Sri Sattanakarat Landmark.

The Prime Minister conducted a merit-making ceremony at the Phaya Sri Sattanakarat Naga monument before touring the event’s cultural and economic exhibits. The festival is a strategic initiative to strengthen Nakhon Phanom’s grassroots economy by highlighting its natural resources, culture, and traditions.

The “DNA Nakhon Phanom” initiative forms the province’s development as a “Restination,” or primary destination for relaxation, through five key experiences: Visit (sightseeing), Eat (local cuisine), Shop (community products), Mu (faith-based tourism), and Rest (slow-life relaxation). This integrated approach highlights the province’s unique identity, supports sustainable income for local communities, and enhances its status as a distinctive tourism destination.

The event, held from March 26 to 29, 2026, is designed to generate sustainable income for local residents by establishing Nakhon Phanom as a high-potential hub for cultural and experiential tourism.
