Thai FM Meets Myanmar Leader to Deepen Bilateral Cooperation

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sihasak Phuangketkeow paid a courtesy call on President Min Aung Hlaing in Nay Pyi Taw during his official visit to Myanmar on April 22.

The two sides agreed to deepen cooperation in key areas, including border security, cross-border trade, investment, energy security, and development cooperation, while also increasing joint efforts to address transnational challenges such as narcotics trafficking, cybercrime, transboundary haze, and river pollution.

Deputy Prime Minister Sihasak, during the meeting, reaffirmed Thailand’s role as a bridge between Myanmar and ASEAN, and made clear Thailand’s continued support for efforts to advance lasting peace and stability in Myanmar.
