Summer Sonic Bangkok 2024, one of the world’s highly successful music festivals, is scheduled on 24-25 August 2024 at Impact Muang Thong Thani in Nonthaburi Province. This marks the second time that the festival has ever been held outside Japan, and the first time in Southeast Asia.

As for the electronic dance music (EDM) festival Tomorrowland, it plans to premiere in Thailand in 2026. This will probably be held for ten consecutive years.

These announcements underscore the potential and the readiness of Thailand to be a top destination for large-scale international events and festivals.

Mr. Suthipong Kongpool, Director of the Civil Aviation Authority, along with Thai government officials and airline officials, discussed the topic of increasing the number of flights between Thailand and India with Mr. Asangba Chuba Ao, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation of India, along with representatives of the Ministry of Civil Aviation of India, the Indian Embassy, and Indian airlines.

The increase will be done in two stages of 7,000 seats each time. Thailand has agreed to open four new extra points of call or destinations for Indian carriers. These comprise Chiang Rai, Hat Yai, Surat Thani, and Udon Thani.

The outcome of this negotiation will allow airlines from both sides to fly with more seats and will further boost their capacity and frequency, along with expanding opportunities to fly to secondary cities.

India is one of Thailand’s most important visitor markets. Last year, the number of Indian travelers totaled 1.62 million, making it the fourth-largest market. Revenue generated from spending by Indian travelers amounted to over 63 billion baht in 2023. This year, as of 19 February, India ranked fifth with 262,986 arrivals, according to Tourism Authority of Thailand data. This will also help promote more travel to main and secondary cities, which promotes travel and tourism in both countries.

The index’s purpose is to offer vital information to investors who are seeking opportunities outside their local markets. The index is based on 100 indicators classified into five categories: Business Perception, Economic Fundamentals, Financial Services, Institutional Framework, and International Standards and Policy.

Thailand holds 21st place in the category of Business Perception, 22nd in Economic Fundamentals, 29th in Financial Services, 51st in Institutional Framework, and 68th in International Standards and Policy.

The top five emerging and developing countries are Malaysia, Thailand, China, Indonesia, and Vietnam.

Thailand strongly and unequivocally condemns this brutal and heinous attack and all such terrorist attacks on innocent civilians.

Thailand expresses its sincere condolences to all the victims and their families for their loss. The thoughts and prayers of the Thai people are with the Russian people at this tragic and difficult time.

These flights, which will be operated by six different airlines, will total 104 unique journeys, giving 17,874 additional seats for the forthcoming holiday season. These additional flights are scheduled for April 11-12 and April 15-16. They will connect passengers to vital regional airports in Phuket, Chiang Mai, Samui, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani, and Khon Kaen. This initiative not only addresses the issue of high demand but also promotes a more balanced distribution of travel flow, potentially easing congestion at airports and on popular routes.

As Songkran approaches, these measures are intended to provide unforgettable travels for thousands of people, representing the festival's theme of cleansing, rejuvenation, and happy reunion.

A study of 200 countries around the world found 13 destinations that couples enjoy after retirement and are able to live on just $1,500 per month.

According to the data, the People’s Daily Online, a major Chinese news agency, and the website Trip.com expect that by the end of 2024, Thai tourists to China could double, and Chinese tourists to Thailand could triple. The forecast is compared to the year 2019, prior to Covid-19.

In addition, Ctrip, a Chinese travel agency, elaborated that, since 1 March, the number of Chinese tourists purchasing trips to Thailand has increased by 30%, while the number of Thais traveling to China has risen by over three times.

Hong Kong is expected to import approximately 180,000 tonnes of Thai rice, a major increase from 150,000 tonnes last year. The majority of imports are expected to be Thai jasmine rice.

Hong Kong is the third-largest export market for Thai jasmine rice, behind the United States and China. Hong Kong imported 257,200 tonnes of rice last year, with Thailand accounting for 57.7% (148,500 tonnes), Vietnam for 23.4% (60,100 tonnes), and China for 8.2% (21,200 tonnes).

Thailand's R&D policy is to increase rice quality and meet the unique needs of different consumer groups. The intention is to preserve a competitive advantage in the international rice market.

The Government has set an ambitious target of exporting 7.5 million tonnes of rice by 2024, anticipating considerable demand.
