People from All Walks of Life to Attend an Audience with His Majesty the King on 6 May

The Government has urged people from all walks of life to wear yellow shirts to attend an audience with His Majesty the King at 16.30 hr on Monday, 6 May 2019, on the occasion of the Coronation of King Rama X.

 

During that time, His Majesty is scheduled to grant a public audience on a balcony of Suddhaisavarya Prasad Hall in the Grand Palace to receive the good wishes of the people. The yellow color represents Monday, which is the birthday of His Majesty the King.

 

Permanent Secretary of the Prime Ministers Office Patcharaporn Intreyonk said that the grand public audience will be broadcast live for viewers nationwide and all over the world. On this occasion, the people have been encouraged to witness this historic event.

 

Mrs. Patcharaporn said that a number of souvenirs have been prepared for the people attending the public audience, so that they can offer their best wishes to His Majesty on his Royal Coronation Ceremony. They include 100,000 commemorative pins bearing the Royal Emblem on the Auspicious Occasion of the Coronation of Coronation of King Rama X, with the statement "Grand Public Audience, 6 May 2019, and 300,000 plastic bottles bearing the Royal Emblem.

 

A number of saplings of economic value, including Yellow Star trees, will also be distributed to the well-wishers. The Yellow Star is the symbolic tree of King Rama X. When visiting various places throughout Thailand, His Majesty personally plants Yellow Star trees to represent the King and for good auspices for the people.

 

These souvenirs will be given to the people at six screening units: the area under Phra Pin Klao Bridge, beside the Statue of Mother Earth Squeezing Her Hair, Tha Chang, Saphan Chang Rongsi, Saphan Mon, and Saphan Charoenrat.

 

The Government has also built a large celebrative arch with the Royal Emblem and decorative plants at Sanam Luang ceremonial ground. People may come and take photographs with this beautiful arch.

 

At 19.00 hr on 6 May 2019 at Sanam Luang, "card stunts in honor of His Majesty will be performed with 300 drones, along with a light and sound presentation. A rehearsal of this event will be conducted on 5 May after the Royal Land Procession.
