His Majesty the King Presides Over the Opening of an Exhibition at Yaowarat

His Majesty the King, accompanied by Her Majesty the Queen, will preside over the opening of an exhibition and visit the Thai-Chinese community in the Yaowarat area, or Bangkoks Chinatown, on 6 December 2019.

The exhibition, entitled "Under the Benevolence of the Chakri Dynasty, will be held at the Chinatown Gate in Commemoration of the 72nd Birthday of King Rama IX on Yaowarat Road, Samphanthawong district. The public is invited to view the exhibition on 7-8 December, between 10.00 and 22.00 hr. Admission is free.

At 12.30 hr on 6 December, eight processions in honor of His Majesty the King will form in front of the Thian Fah Foundation Hospital. Among the processions are lion and golden dragon dances.

At 16.00 hr, the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers, and senior officials arrive at the Chinatown Gate. Later, at 17.00 hr, Their Majesties the King and Queen arrive at Wat Trai Mit Witthayaram to light incense sticks and candles in veneration of the major Buddha image there.

They then proceed to the Chinatown Gate, where Mr. Jitti Tangsitpakdee, Chairman of the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, will give a report, and representatives of local companies will give souvenirs to Their Majesties the King and Queen. His Majesty the King will also give plaques of honor to the sponsors of this event.

Then Their Majesties the King and Queen will view a cultural performance from the Peoples Republic of China, before presiding over the exhibition "Under the Benevolence of the Chakri Dynasty. They then proceed to the Thian Fah Foundation Hospital to view the exhibition on the history of this hospital and receive souvenirs.

After that, Their Majesties the King and Queen travel on foot to visit members of the public and local Thai-Chinese community, who have come to attend an audience with Their Majesties along Yaowarat Road, Ratchawong intersection, Suea Pa Road, Charoen Krung Road, and Wat Mangkonkamalawat.

Upon their arrival at Wat Mangkonkamalawat, Their Majesties the King and Queen pay homage to the three presiding Buddha images at the temple, before returning to Ambara Villa, Dusit Palace, by car.
