They will attend the 15th Asian Corporate Conference at the Shangri-La Hotel between June 8 and 10. Organized jointly by the Asia Society and Thailands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the three-day conference focuses on the theme Southeast Asia Rising: A Region Booming among Asias Economic Giants. It will discuss Thailands potential to sustain its rapid economic growth in the long term. Conference delegates will explore various issues affecting Southeast Asias growth potential and the regions economic future. As ASEAN nations become powerful trade partners in Asia, how will the roles of the United States, India, and China in the region evolve? What are the implications for new investment in the region? Emphasis will be placed on regional and international cooperation in the reconstruction effort as well. This effort is part of the Asia Societys Tsunami Response Project, which aims to educate the public on the long-term political, economic, social, cultural, and environmental effects of the tsunami on Asian countries and on the future of US-Asia relations.
