HM the King Thanks All People Involved for Their Operations to Fight COVID-19

Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha stated that His Majesty the King had commended and thanked the Government, public health officials, and other people involved for their operations in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Thailands ability to effectively contain the spread of the virus has also been hailed by many countries.

Speaking after the Cabinet meeting on 8 July 2020, the Prime Minister said that he had been granted an audience with His Majesty the King to give a report on the Government's performance.

He said that His Majesty urged the Government to take good care of the people, so that they would have a better quality of life. Emphasis must be placed on fair and transparent administration to ease the hardships of the people and bring about national stability.

The Prime Minister said that His Majesty the King has paid great attention to water and forest management. Water storage is needed to ease water shortages in certain areas.

He said that Their Majesties the King and Queen on 6 July 2020 donated biosafety mobile units to collect COVID-19 test specimens for the Ministry of Public Health to use in its 12 health area offices across the country. The units will increase the efficiency of health personnel in checking if people are infected with COVID-19.

On this occasion, Their Majesties also donated personal funds to produce and develop biosafety mobile units to support medical operations against COVID-19. The units will also ensure safety for healthcare workers.
