Showing Loyalty to His Majesty the King on the Occasion of His Birthday

Thai people have carried out various activities to show their loyalty to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua on the occasion of his 68th birthday anniversary this year.

His Majesty was born in Bangkok on 28 July 1952. He is the only son, the second of four children, of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. His Majesty has followed the footsteps of His Royal Parents in easing the peoples problems and improving their well-being.

During the outbreak of COVID-19, His Majesty the King presented medical equipment and pharmaceuticals to the Government in order to fight COVID-19. He also donated "Modular Swab Units to various hospitals nationwide to mitigate COVID-19 infection risks among medical personnel and patients.

On 6 July, His Majesty donated biosafety mobile units to collect COVID-19 test specimens for the Ministry of Public Health to use in its 12 health area offices across the country. The units will increase the efficiency of health personnel in checking if people are infected with COVID-19.

In his royal address to the Prime Minister and other officials, His Majesty said that he was pleased to have seen Thailand deal with the COVID-19 problem quite well and to see that people have given such good cooperation.

He also stated that proper knowledge and understanding of the disease would lead to the tackling of the problem effectively. At the same time, the people must be provided with good understanding about how to protect themselves from the disease.

To honor His Majesty the King on the occasion of his birthday, 28 July 2020, the Ministry of Public Health has launched the project "New Normal under the Benevolence of His Majesty the King. In this project, several public health activities are being held from 28 to 31 July at Sanam Luang ceremonial ground, such as COVID-19 testing, an exhibition, a demonstration of job generation with Thai herbs, and health consulting services.
