The Final Phase of the Coronation of King Rama X Has Concluded
Both the Royal Barge Procession and the Royal Land Procession, marking the final phase of the Coronation of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua (Rama X), have concluded, leaving a lasting and memorable impression on everyone.
Many Services for the Public in the Final Phase of the Royal Coronation
All relevant agencies are preparing many services for the people attending the final phase of the Coronation of King Rama X on 12 December 2019, when both royal processions by water and by land will be held in Bangkok.
Road and Water Traffic Closures on 12 December
On the occasion of royal processions by water and by land on 12 December 2019 in the final phase of the Coronation of King Rama X, the Marine Department and the Traffic Police will close road and water traffic during certain periods.
Security Screening Points
Members of the public who wish to enter the sites arranged specially for public audiences with Their Majesties the King and Queen during the Royal Barge Procession and the Royal Land Procession on 12 December 2019 will have to pass through security screening points.
Formation of the Royal Barge Procession Upheld through the Ages
Clear evidence shows that the Royal Barge Procession appeared in the early Ayutthaya period, although the royal procession by water is believed to have started since the Sukhothai period. The formation of the Royal Barge Procession that most clearly displays the great wealth and power of the royal court is one that originated in the reign of King Narai the Great (1656-1688).
The Public Invited to Attend an Audience with Their Majesties the King and Queen
The Government has invited the public to attend an audience with Their Majesties the King and Queen along the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok on the occasion of a royal journey in the Royal Barge Procession.
