Thailand ranked first as fruit exporter to China

The Trade Policy and Strategy Office of the Ministry of Commerce has announced that Thailand holds the top position as an exporter of Thai fruit to China, with a 41.3% market share in 2022.

The General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC) has granted permission for the importation of over 22 varieties of fruit from Thailand, including tamarind, custard apple, papaya, star fruit, guava, rambutan, longkong, sapodilla, passion fruit, mandarin orange, orange, pomelo, pineapple, banana, coconut, jackfruit, longan, durian, mango, lychee, mangosteen, and rose apple.

Durian from Thailand dominates the market for durian in China, with a 95.3% market share, longan at 99.3%, mangosteen at 86.8%, coconut at 69.2%, sweet apple at 100%, rose apple at 100%, and rambutan at 82.4%.

The outstanding quality and delightful taste of Thai fruits have contributed to their substantial market share and increased demand overseas. This presents a crucial opportunity for Thai farmers and entrepreneurs to enhance the management of their production processes and further develop the export of high-quality Thai fruit.
