This week, Thailand's delegation led by Paetongtarn Shinawatra, leader of the Pheu Thai Party, is attending the BRICS+ meeting of political parties in Vladivostok, Russia from 16-19 June 2024.

At this crucial meeting, Paetongtarn is actively advocating for Thailand's membership in the BRICS bloc, emphasizing the importance of giving a stronger voice to smaller and developing nations in the global political arena.

She highlighted Thailand's extensive experience in bridging nations and groups like the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), and China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Paetongtarn made a strong case that Thailand's participation would greatly benefit the BRICS nations.

The Thai delegation aims to secure BRICS membership at the earliest, which would be a significant milestone for Thailand and our rapidly growing economy. We are committed to taking our rightful place among leading nations on the world stage.
