In the first eleven months of 2025 (January–November), the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP), in collaboration with the Economic Crime Suppression Division, the Department of Special Investigation, and intellectual property rights holders, conducted a total of 1,132 arrests for counterfeit items. Although this represents a 16.15% decrease in cases, the number of seized counterfeit items (3,344,841) increased by 21.35%, resulting in losses for counterfeiters exceeding 1,140 million baht (approximately 36.2 million US dollars).
Simultaneously, the Government is taking serious action to crack down on counterfeit goods in online markets by implementing “Notice and Takedown” measures under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation in protecting intellectual property on the Internet between the DIP and five leading online platforms. This has resulted in the suspension of sales of over 2,867 counterfeit goods on Lazada, Shopee, TikTok Shop, NocNoc, and Nex Gen Commerce. The MOU is going to expand to the Line Shopping platform on 19 December 2025.
Members of the public may report intellectual property violations at the DIP’s hotline 1368 and through the website www.ipthailand.go.th.
