Bangkok shines once again as the Awakening Bangkok 2025 festival returns for its 8th edition, and its 3rd edition in the Phra Nakhon area. Held under the theme “LOVERCITY,” the festival presents the city as a starting point of love in many forms, expressed through 27 lighting art and digital installations across Phra Nakhon, Bangkok’s historic district. Running until 21 December 2025, the exhibition follows the earlier Awakening Song Wat event earlier this year, with the aim of stimulating the local economy through art and light.
Awakening Bangkok 2025 spans four main zones:
- Pak Khlong Talat Zone: Pak Khlong Talat Market, Yodpiman Market, Yodpiman River Walk, and Rachini Pier.
- Sam Yot Zone: Showcasing lighting and digital art installations at Rommaninat Park.
- Phuttha Yotfa Bridge Zone: Postal Building and Santi Chai Prakan–style public green spaces at King Prajadhipok Park.
- Wang Burapha Zone: The Old Siam Plaza, Ong Ang Canal, Queens Cinema, and Hom Prung Café by Bai Hor.
“LOVERCITY reflects love among friends and family, love for the city, romantic love, and reciprocal love. It shows that love can happen in every corner of the city and become a powerful force that connects people,” said Pongsiri Hettrakul, Director of the Awakening Bangkok Festival. He added that the festival invites visitors to rediscover Bangkok through a new lens, as a city of life, memories, and love, while enjoying the Old Town after dark.
