Diplomats, Military Attaches, & Media to Observe Thai-Cambodia Border on 1 August 2025

The Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will lead a delegation of foreign diplomats and military attachés, journalists from 22 foreign media outlets, totaling 38 people, and members of the Thai media to visit the Thai-Cambodian border on 1 August 2025. The purpose of the visit is to observe and assess the impact of the clashes along the border, so that the facts from the visit will be widely known to the public, including people overseas.

The visit will prioritize safety as the upmost concern, particularly since Thailand did not initiate the attacks. Therefore, the time for the visit must be carefully considered and will depend on assurances of safety in the area.

Furthermore, Thailand will not distort information or accuse Cambodia, as has allegedly been done by Cambodia against Thailand. Instead, it will focus on accurate and qualitative communication to reflect actual events. The delegation will be able to convey information to the global audience about the destruction of civilian homes, hospitals, schools, and public places. These attacks, initiated by Cambodia, on non-military targets violate international humanitarian law, human rights principles, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. This has resulted in numerous injuries and deaths, and the displacement of over 100,000 people.
