Thai Deputy PM Orders Urgent Evacuation Support Amid Thailand–Cambodia Border Clashes

On 8 December 2025, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, urgently ordered the Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation (DNP) to prepare personnel, equipment, and vehicles to support the evacuation and assistance of people affected by clashes along the Thailand–Cambodia border, relocating them to temporary shelters and safe areas.

The DNP is working with local authorities and village security teams to monitor the homes and property of those evacuated, ensuring safety for affected residents. Tents and basic facilities are being set up to serve as temporary shelters for both military personnel and civilians in safe areas.

According to the latest reports, staff from the Phanom Dong Rak Wildlife Sanctuary have relocated bedridden patients and disabled residents from high-risk villages to shelter centers since 21.00 hr on the night of 7 December. Recent reports indicate ongoing explosions from clashes along the Thailand–Cambodia border, which led to this urgent directive.
