Thailand has issued a statement expressing its deepest condolences for the loss of Mr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Mr. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Iranian President and Minister of Foreign Affairs were among several high-level officials who perished in a tragic helicopter crash on 19 May 2024.
According to the statement, Thailand stands with the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran during this difficult time as a true friend for more than 400 years.
Meanwhile, Government Spokesperson Chai Wacharonke said that, in order to express official condolences for the loss of the Iranian President, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin had ordered government agencies and state enterprises across the country to fly flags at half-mast for three working days on 23-24 and 27 May 2024.
