His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua has graciously granted royal sponsorship for the funerals of people who lost their lives in the devastating floods in southern Thailand.
The widespread flooding in the lower southern region has caused immense damage by destroying homes and property, leading to loss of life and economic and social impacts. His Majesty the King has closely monitored the situation and expressed his concern for the affected people.
His Majesty’s message was conveyed through Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul on 29 November 2025, who related that His Majesty expressed deep concern for the people affected by the floods and extended condolences to the families of those who lost their lives.
In the message, His Majesty gave moral support to officials, volunteers, and health personnel who have been operating in various areas to help people affected by the flood situation.
Apart from granting royal sponsorship for the funerals of all people who lost their lives in the flooding, His Majesty has also granted burial soil and offered 20,000 baht in assistance for each family of the deceased.
Moreover, His Majesty the King granted 100 million baht to Hatyai Hospital in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, to help in its recovery and to purchase medical devices replacing the ones that were damaged by the floods. Dr Wiroj Yommuang, Director of Hatyai Hospital, has been granted a royal audience to receive the donation.
His Majesty offered his encouragement to the medical personnel at Hatyai Hospital, Songklanagarind Hospital, and the Faculty of Medicine, under Prince of Songkhla University, and expressed his appreciation for all the healthcare workers, officials, and volunteers who have dedicated themselves to assisting flood-affected people.
His Majesty also provided the Royal Thai Armed Forces, the Royal Thai Army, the Royal Thai Navy, the Royal Thai Air Force, and the Royal Thai Police with unmanned aerial vehicles, or drones, for search operations and food transport. These drones will be used for flood relief and disaster mitigation efforts in the South.
