Dr. Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at Ministry of Education, attended the SEAMEO Executive Committee (EXCOM) Meeting 2025, the 20th ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Education (SOM-ED), and the 15th ASEAN Plus Three SOM-ED, held from 20–22 August.
The Permanent Secretary chaired the SEAMEO EXCOM Meeting, where officials discussed the SEAMEO Secretariat’s work plan, project proposals, and set recommendations for the upcoming 48th SEAMEO High Officials Meeting in November 2025.
Brunei Darussalam’s delegation also participated in the ASEAN and ASEAN+3 education meetings, which focused on regional education collaboration, progress reviews, and partnerships with dialogue partners. The Permanent Secretary shared updates on Brunei's initiatives under the ASEAN Education Work Plan 2021–2025, including SEAMEO VOCTECH and the Brunei Darussalam Leadership and Teacher Academy (BDLTA).
