Thailand's digital economy grows 14% in 2022

The digital economy in Thailand expanded by 14%, reaching a market value of 2.6 trillion baht in 2022, according to a report by the Digital Economy Promotion Agency. The Senior Executive Vice President of DEPA, Dr. Kasititorn Pooparadai, emphasized the broad industrial sectors' consistent progress. Consumer behavior changes and technical developments are what are driving this increase. A DEPA survey of five important industries—software, hardware and smart devices, digital services, digital content, and communications—found that the area of digital services was leading the way with a phenomenal 21% gain. The growth of fintech, health tech, and retail helped create a market worth around 300 billion baht. The business for software and software services followed closely after, growing by 19% and possessing a market value of about 200 billion baht. Between 2023 and 2025, this industry is anticipated to grow to a value of about 270 billion baht.
